Israel & Iran – End Time Bible Prophecy? Gog Magog War

“And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel… and it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land.”Ezekiel 38:16

Today, we are likely witnessing the early stages of the prophesied Gog and Magog war. This war, described in Ezekiel 38–39, is expected to occur prior to the 7 Years of Tribulation. Among Bible prophecy teachers, there is ongoing discussion about its exact timing on if this happens before the Rapture, or shortly after. While the timing is debated, the message is not: this war is part of God’s end time blueprint.

Despite whatever narrative the media or world leaders may be pushing today, what is going on in the middle east is not about oil, land, or borders. It’s about the unfolding of end-time prophecy—where the world begins to rage against God’s prophetic calendar, against His covenant people, and ultimately, against the soon return of Jesus Christ. This is not just a political conflict. It is a spiritual battle, a final shaking of the nations as the stage is set for God’s intervention, judgment, and ultimately, redemption.

Ezekiel 37 details the rebirth and restoration of the nation of Israel- a nation brought back from the grave after nearly 2,000 years of nonexistence in (70AD – 1948AD). Ezekiel 38 and 39 describe a coalition of nations led by Gog from the land of Magog that would rise in the last days to come against the newly formed israel. Nations from the north and east (Russia, Iran (Persia), Turkey, and others) align to destroy Israel, not realizing they are stepping into a trap.

According to Ezekiel 38–39, the armies that come against Israel will be vast, heavily equipped, and seemingly unstoppable. They will come “like a storm” and cover the land “like a cloud.” From a natural perspective, Israel should not survive this invasion. The nations will come with confidence, believing they have the upper hand. But what they don’t realize is that they are walking into a trap.

God Himself says, “I will bring thee against my land” – not to destroy Israel, but to display His power to the world. This will not be a victory won by the IDF or foreign allies. In fact, no mention is made of any nation coming to Israel’s aid. God alone fights this battle. He rains down fire and brimstone, unleashes a massive earthquake, and causes confusion in the enemy camp, turning them against each other. Disease, hailstones, and supernatural judgment fall upon the invading force.

The Lord declares in Ezekiel 38:23, “Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.” The defeat of Gog’s coalition will shake the world and awaken many to the reality of the God of Israel. The stage will be set for the Tribulation, the rise of the Antichrist, and the countdown to Christ’s Second Coming!

What Ezekiel saw is closer than ever. This is not a time for fear, but for urgency. Wake up. Look up. Be ready! Jesus is coming soon!
