Sometimes you hear people say things like “I don’t have the faith for that.” or “I have a hard time believing for this”. If you ever feel like that, there’s some things you need to know about faith from the Scriptures!
Mustard Seed Faith
Matthew 17:20 For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
A mustard seed is an extremely small seed, but there is potential in that seed to produce a gigantic tree. It’s the same with your faith! When you take the little bit of faith that you may have and begin to put it to work, it begins to grow and eventually it will become large. Over time you will be believing God for much bigger things.
Measure of Faith
Romans 12:3 …according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Everyone has faith! God has given you a measure of faith. It’s up to you to begin to put that faith to work for you, or to keep it dormant and not put it to use. It’s sometimes tempting to want other people to use their faith on your behalf. For example, some people want to leave everything up to their Pastor or spiritual people they know. That’s fine when you’re a new believer, but eventually you have to begin to mature and develop in your relationship with God and use your own faith.
Faith comes by Hearing the Word
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
To grow, strengthen and increase your faith you need to go to begin to hear the Word of God. Study the Word! Find scriptures that pertain to what you’re going through and meditate on those. God said He is watchful over His Word to perform it! God’s will is in His Word!
More than you can bear
1 Cor 10:13 God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
God will not allow more on you than you can bear. Whatever challenge you are facing in the natural, God will provide a way out for you when you seek Him and release your faith. In the natural, David looked like a grasshopper when compared to Goliath. He shouldn’t have been able to slay such a powerful giant who had been a man of war since his youth, but David defeated him with a single stone and a slingshot.
Do not be intimidated by the battles you are facing, God is ready to put His “super” on your “natural” and cause you to come through in a supernatural way. I pray miracles are released to you even as you are reading this!
Point of Contact
Matthew 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
A point of contact is a term we use to describe a point where you release your faith. Many people touched Jesus’ garment the day this woman touched Him, but she received a healing. Why? Because her touch was a touch of faith! A point of contact can be anything you use to release your faith.
When I go to preach, I say outloud “the moment I grab that microphone I receive the Anointing to preach” And you know what? The moment I grab the microphone, whatever was going on before that point goes away, and I suddenly feel a supernatural inspiration and boldness to share the Word of God. There are times I have needed healing in my bodies and I go to the Church for prayer, I make a point of contact for myself. I say out loud “The moment hands are laid upon me, I receive my healing!” What matters is that your faith in God is released and you RECEIVE the answer to your prayer!
