It’s Pastor Appreciation Month! This Sunday (October 12th), we will be taking a special moment to celebrate and honor our incredible leaders — Pastors Zach and Edie Weber — for their faithfulness, love, and dedication to The River Church family.
Our pastors pour out their hearts every week, guiding us with truth, encouragement, and compassion. Let’s come together to show them how much they mean to us!
💎 What Is Honor?
1 Thessalonians 5:12–13, “Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. 13 Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other.”
To honor someone means to recognize their value, to show deep respect, and to express gratitude for the role they play in our lives. In Scripture, honor isn’t just a gesture, it’s a heart posture. It means seeing others the way God sees them and acknowledging the weight of their service and calling. When we honor, we give thanks not only to the person, but to God who has placed them in our lives.
Scripture teaches us to “give honor to whom honor is due” (Romans 13:7). As we take time to honor our Pastors, we’re not just celebrating people; we’re aligning with God’s heart by showing love, gratitude, and respect for those He has chosen to place in our lives.

If you’d like to be part of it, please record a short, 1-2 minute, video clip sharing your appreciation, encouragement or a favorite memory and send it to Donavan and Jodie Callihan by Saturday afternoon!

💌 Appreciation Gift & Cards
There will be a Church Card available to sign on Sunday if you’d like to add your name and a few words of encouragement, or you can bring your own card for them.
For those asking about giving a financial gift of appreciation, you can give Cash or Checks to Donavan and Jodie Callihan on Sunday to place in the Church Card, or place it in your own card.
