“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him… There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” – 1 John 4:16;18
“The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.” – John 17:22-23
“In that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God.” – John 16:26-27
Last week we talked about knowing and believing the love that God has for you. Many believer’s will agree with you that God loves them, but their words and actions show otherwise. Or, perhaps they don’t truly understand what the Father’s love for them looks like.
Paul prayed for the Ephesian church that they would come to know, practically through experience for themselves, the “Love of God, which far passes mere knowledge without experience.” He prayed that they would be able to comprehend the breadth, the length, and the height and depth of the Love of God.
Because the Father loves you, He is going to take care of you, because that’s what love does. There is one man that I know of who lived in the depression days, who when he had his first son told his brother “I would rather just die now, than to live to see my son go through half of what I’ve went through in life.” This man worked his fingers to the bone, to provide an education and welfair for his son and to give his child an advantage in life.
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” Matthew 7:11
Love takes care, and God is love. Because we believe in the love that God has for us, we should know He is going to care for us. We also know He is going to protect us from harm and danger. Why? Because He loves us! Friend, when you walk in love, you walk in God’s realm. Love God with all your heart. Love your neighbor as you love yourself, love the brethren as God loves the brethren, and love your way to VICTORY.
