The Day of Judgement

Romans 14:11-12 It is written: “As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before Me; every tongue will confess to God.” So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

1. Sheep and the Goats

Matt 25:31-36 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates nthe sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

On that Day when all of humanity stands before Him, God will seperate those who received Christ as their Lord and Savior, and those who did not. In Matthew, Jesus said that He will sit on His throne and put the sheep on the right, and the goats on his left. He will tell His sheep to enter into the Kingdom, and the goats to depart from Him. But, it doesn’t end here.

2. Bema Seat Judgement

2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

The word Evil is the word Kakos which means “bad” in the broadest sense of the word. It can also mean worthless, and some translations do translate it as that.

The Bema Seat is the judgement for Believers, where we will give an account for what we did with our lives. It is NOT a time where God judges us for the sins that He has already forgiven us of. Rather, we will be judged on whether we fulfilled what God called us to do. Did we live our life for Him, fully? Or, did we live it for ourselves. If we lived it for ourselves, our only reward is what what we received on Earth, and that can’t be brought into eternity. If we lived it for Him, we will receive eternal rewards, positions and crowns.

3. The White Throne Judgement

Revelation 20:11;15 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them… Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

This is the time where unbelievers will be judged according their works and sentenced to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire. Knowing this, every Believer should have an urgency to warn, urge and persuade others!

2 Cor 5:10-11 says, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men”
