Hunger for the Word

Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”

We should be hungry and have a desire for everything that God has for our life. God has given us His Holy, Written Word, and I pray that this year you develop an intense hunger for it! Jesus said that it’s the Word that is a seed, that when it is planted, produces fruit in our life! The Word of God is “QUICK” and “POWERFUL” and, “sharper than any two edged sword”. God said He holds His Word above His name! And if He said it, it will surely come to pass. We should be filling ourselves every single day with His Word. Here are some things that happen when you begin to hunger and fill yourself with Scripture.

The Word brings Spiritual Life (Revival)

Proverbs 4:20-22 “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

The Word “life” in this verse is the Hebrew word “Chey” which can also be translated to the words “Revival” and “Sustenance”. The Word of God is Sustenance to our spirit, and brings us into a state of Revival. Did you know Revival is not just a church meeting, or a happening, but Revival is a lifestyle. You can live, every single day, in a state of being spiritually alive! It all comes from hungering and filling yourself with the Word!

The Word brings Faith

Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Did you ever notice how sometimes it’s so easy to have faith in one area, but then a struggle to have faith in another? That’s because the area you struggle in is where you are lacking knowledge of the Word. For example, If you are struggling with believing God for healing, then you must fill yourself with what God says about it! Stop listening to people’s OPINION about the Word, and start reading the Word for yourself! Faith comes as a result of you hearing and filling yourself with the Word.

The Word brings Permanent Freedom

John 8:32 “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Did you know you can come to a service, get set free from a bondage, and pick it right back up again the next day? What is the permanent way to get FREE? Jesus told us: Revelation knowledge of the Word!

  1. “Truth” and “free” go hand in hand. Unless you can truly accept the “truth” in your circumstance, freedom from it will be delayed. Believe, in your heart, mind and soul that God “can” , and He will. Glory to God! Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will exalt you.
